Rangers boss Walter Smith is hoping to extend David Weir's stay at Ibrox.
Weir initially joined Rangers on a short-term deal after arriving from Everton in January.
The Scottish international has impressed during his short time in Glasgow and Smith is keen to keep the veteran
defender.
"I'd like Davie to stay and we will sit down and talk at the end of the season," said Smith.
"However, he's settled in England with a young family.
"He was desperate to come here but the initial six-month period wasn't going to cause any great upset to his family.
"If we take it further then that's different."
